Thank you to everyone across the Foundation who supported our Harvest Charity Appeal! The Threshing Machine has been in full use separating the grains from the chaff. This had made a significant difference to the sisters who work tirelessly to pummel the maize they have grown.

The Chapel Charity was the African Sisters of St Mary (CMM) in Tanzania. The Sisters are a community of 100 Anglican nuns, serving 11 communities in Tanzania. They work tirelessly to support their communities through self-sustaining farming. In order to feed their community and produce their daily bread, 20 sisters spend 7 full days of back-breaking work pummelling the maize they have grown.

For some time, the Sisters have been praying for a Threshing Machine to make their lives and work easier, which costs £750.00.

With the goal of raising £750.00, our Harvest Appeal was launched by Tractor Girl, Manon Ossevoort, during our Harvest Festival back in October 2019.

Pupils from across the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation rolled up their sleeves and backed the appeal by holding cake sales, raffles, and producing and selling decorative key rings.

We are proud to announce that our combined efforts resulted in £1,614.89! This has enabled the African Sisters of St Mary (CMM) to purchase a Threshing Machine and more.

Dirk Juttner, Trustee of the Sisters’ Warwick-based support group, visited Warwick School for an assembly in December to offer thanks to the foundation community on behalf of the Sisters. He said “Thank you! You have done so much more than raise money; More than purchased a piece of equipment; More than just helped others. What you’ve done, you have shown love!”
