My Money Maths Week

This term, we participated in My Money Maths Week which is a national event aimed at getting children excited about financial matters. It was a wonderful week with lots of fun events.

In the Pre-Prep department, the children learnt about the role money plays in our lives by hearing the story ‘Edd and Bunny Raise Some Money’ by Matt Carr. The children worked with money, estimating how much they had. They also totalled coins to different values and understood how wasting food wastes money.
In Middle School, Years 3 and 4 looked at the importance of managing their money its value. The girls put together ‘Protection Plans’ to show how to look after important objects and their money. Each group agreed that it is important not to waste money, to save money and to keep it safe and secure.

In Upper School, Years 5 and 6 looked at risks when it comes to money. They made their own business posters explaining the needs and risks of starting a business.

The highlights of the week for us were working with coins, problem-solving, risks and estimating!

Thank you, Miss Fulker, for making My Money Maths Week so amazing.
